The Tony Award-winning author and composer released a contemporary song, this single inspired by the life of Ben Franklin. Called "Ben Franklin's Song", it is a foundation of both Miranda and the sway strip, The Decembrists. Miranda, 37, teased the contemporary track Friday on Twitter, asking his followers, "'Member how I thought I once upon a time wrote selected Decemberists-esque lyrics meant for a Ben Franklin song, but in no way congealed ‘em to melody?"
"So I sent the lyrics to @ColinMeloy. He's in the sphere of @TheDecemberists," he continued. "And HE congealed it to melody in the same way as lone he and his crew can. It utterly blew me away. I weent BACK to write down contemporary lyrics meant for a association meant for him."
